Under the Hayfield Sun: Dylan & Dave’s Perfect Wedding Day​

The Barnstorm recently had the incredible opportunity to play at Dylan and Dave’s wedding on July 13th, 2024, at the stunning Hayfield – nestled in the picturesque Catskills up in Maplecrest, NY. From the heartfelt ceremony to the energetic reception, the entire day was filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable music.

The day began with a beautiful ceremony – we played Neil Young’s Harvest Moon” & John Prines “In Spite of Ourselves…” Two songs that created the perfect ambiance for Dylan and Dave to say “I do.” Then, things kicked into high gear with a joyous New Orleans-style “2nd Line” parade, leading guests from the ceremony to the cocktail hour. This vibrant procession set the tone for an evening of fun and celebration. The “2nd Line” seamlessly transitioned into the cocktail hour, where guests mingled and enjoyed delicious treats while we provided a lively soundtrack.

As the reception got underway, Dylan and Dave shared a romantic first dance to Aretha Franklin’s classic “You’re All I Need to Get By.” One of the most memorable moments of the night was the father-daughter dance to a rousing rendition of Bruce Springsteen’s “Thunder Road.” The father of the bride even surprised everyone by joining us on stage to play the legendary piano intro! The energy was infectious, and the dance floor remained packed all night long.
